You Weren't Needy. You Were Neglected.

You Weren't Needy. You Were Neglected.

Written by Chris Josh

Some people made you feel bad for needing certain things.

You wanted a text back, a little attention, or to feel wanted.

But somewhere along the way, they made you feel like you were asking for too much.

So maybe you started to think you were a little too needy.

But hear me out...

You weren't needy at all. You were neglected - no ifs, ands or buts about it.

Let me be blunt here - wanting love isn't needy! It's basic human desire. Wanting to feel wanted isn't needy either.

Asking for the bare minimum from someone who claimed to care about you is definitely not needy.

The problem was never that you needed too much. The problem was that you were with people who gave  you far too little. And instead of meeting your needs, they made you feel wrong for having them. The audacity!

That's how you end up shrinking yourself. Asking for less. Pretending you were fine when you really weren't.

But here's the thing. Your needs are normal and completely healthy. Your needs aren't a burden to the right people - only to the wrong people.

Stop apologizing for having needs. Say it plainly. "Wanting to be loved isn't asking for too much."

Find people who click with your vibe. The right ones won't call you needy. They'll just simpy show up ready to spend time with you.

You were never too much. Remember that!

You were just handed too little, for far too long.
