Losing someone hurts.
But sometimes it isn’t really a loss...Sometimes you just outgrew them and it's for your own good.
Think about who you were back then. You probably accepted less.
You probably stayed quiet and made yourself smaller so the person would be comfortable in your presence.
Then you grew...
You learned your worth. You started expecting better and you stopped accepting things that used to feel normal.
And suddenly, the two of you didn’t fit anymore.
That’s not a tragedy. That’s what growth actually looks like. Some people are only meant to be in your life for a specific period of time - including blood relatives.
You didn’t do anything wrong. You just became a version of yourself they couldn’t tolerate anymore.
Some people are only meant to be with you for one chapter. When you grow past that chapter, they don’t always come with you. That's just life.
It’s okay to miss them and it's okay to feel sad.
But don’t shrink back down just to fit next to someone you already outgrew.
You’re not supposed to go backward. You're supposed to cross paths with people who are on a similar path.
The right people will grow with you. And they'll be proud of who you’re becoming, not threatened by it. They'll even cheer you on and inspire you.
Remember, you didn’t lose them; you just grew into someone their ego could no longer be around because you reflect back to them their need to grow too.
And that? That’s a beautiful thing because that's your confirmation that you're evolving and elevating.
