You Didn't Deserve What Happened to You

You Didn't Deserve What Happened to You

Written by Chris Josh

I need you to know this right this very second... What happened to you wasn't your fault.

You've probably replayed it countless times in your mind.

Constantly searching for what you could've possibly done wrong and how you could've stopped it.

You probably tried to reason with yourself that it was somehow your fault.

Please stop carrying that burden. Don't do that to yourself. You deserve peace, love and joy.

You absolutely didn't deserve to be hurt. And you didn't deserve to be lied to, used, or betrayed either.

Nothing you did warranted that from anyone.

People who hurt you will often make you feel like you caused it. Sadly, that's how they try to avoid the blame. They'll even gaslight you when you confront them.

And a good heart like yours takes it on, because you'd rather believe it was your own fault than to believe someone made the conscious choice to hurt you.

Give the blame back to them. Whenever you start to feel guilt, say it with your chest. "That was their choice - it was never my fault whatsoever!"

Stop searching for what you did wrong. You don't have to solve why it happened to move past it.

Just remember - you weren't the reason. You were the one who got unjustifiably hurt.

And you owe it to yourself to finally set down that burden you've been carrying, once and for all.

Stop Your Own Thoughts From Bullying You.
