What to Do When an Apology Never Comes

What to Do When an Apology Never Comes

Written by Chris Josh

You keep waiting for them to say sorry.

Perhaps you keep replaying it in your head. And you think, "one day they'll get it. Maybe one day they'll knock on my door and admit they were wrong."

But truth be told, that day may never come.

And waiting for that day will keep you stuck.

Here's what to do.

The first step is to stop waiting.

Some people will never say sorry. Not because you don't deserve it, but because they can't see past themselves.

Second, give yourself what they won't.

Tell yourself these words you need to hear. "What happened to me was real - I'm not imagining things. And I know it wasn't my fault."

And third, close the door.

You don't need their apology to move on. You can heal and completely let go without it.

You were waiting for them to set you free - but you had the key the whole time.

Stop waiting and start healing.,,You don't need their sorry to be okay.

You always have God and you always have you. And you always have the choice to focus on the good happening all around you.
