If you want to have more enjoyable days, then you must start with the moment. If you enjoy the current moment and the one after and the one after, you’ll find yourself to be having an enjoyable experience.
But how do we do we accomplish this? Let’s start by asking the following question. Are there things you do routinely that you just don’t want to do? For example, you may dislike your job or your chores.
It’s understandable to not be thrilled to do some things we humans are required to do in order to function. Who enjoys doing loads of laundry, especially if you need to go to a laundromat?
So what’s the solution? It’s straightforward. You need to learn to love the things you dislike. Let’s face it. Work is not going away anytime soon. Chores aren’t going to get magically done on their own.
So why not force yourself to love doing these things? Fake it till you make it. Tell yourself, “I love my job. It helps me pay for all the things I need. Because of my job, I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge, transportation, clothes, shoes, and all of my belongings.”
Regarding laundry, you can tell yourself, “I am grateful for washing machines and dryers. At least I don’t have to do manual work to get my clothes clean. And I’m so grateful for detergent, otherwise my clothes would stink!”
When you do this, you’ll find that your job becomes easier. Your chores and errands become a breeze. And as a result, you have a much more enjoyable day and life. Try it!
If you would like to revolutionize how you talk to yourself, check out my book, "How Champions Talk to Themselves." I go into great detail on this topic. It goes beyond the scope of this blog. You'll learn how to achieve success, a nicer body, gain increased energy, and so much more.
